Good testing practices are a tool to refine your industrial hemp growing, harvesting and drying processes to maximize your final payout.
John Tucci, Vice President of Sales at HempLogic™, can’t emphasize enough the importance of testing your hemp crop for the best returns for not only this year, but future years.
He sets the HempLogic farmers up with standardized, weekly testing kits through the growing process and he provides specific advice about how to take test samples for the most accurate results. This isn’t something you drag your feet on.
“Once you’re in the ground, that’s when we call the lab and establish that relationship,” Tucci explains.
Those tests will show a base-line of weekly increases in both the THC and CBD percentages. This allows Tucci to help his growers predict when to harvest, maximizing for the highest percentage of CBD in their plants while still within the legal threshold of under .3 percent THC.
But, as Tucci explains, don’t stop there! Testing both at harvest time, and during the drying process is important for helping a hemp farmer refine their harvest and drying processes.
Improper harvest and drying methods can REDUCE the final amount of CBD in your biomass.
A four percent or greater drop is an indicator you need to take a close look. Monitoring those numbers before during and after the harvest and drying process can help you pinpoint any issues in your process and know where you need to improve for next year.
Testing is, bottom-line, an irreplaceable tool to not only know when to harvest THIS year, but to evaluate your processes for next year’s crop. Knowledge that is worth potentially hundreds of thousands of dollars in increased value.

I would like more info on harvesting and drying facilities.
Hi Sam,
Please get in touch through our contact form and we will get back to you with that info.
WOW, some very enlightening information in these articles for sure! I was wondering how much space i would need per acre of biomass to dry it properly. That sure is more than expected and significantly changes my overall input calculations. Thank you so much. Keep the articles coming!
Please use our contact form on the site and one of our experts will be happy to answer your question.
Hello,
Thank you for this information. How much are the testing kits? And what exactly do they test for? Anything other than the basic two ingredients of interest?
